Jawline filler aims to accentuate the jaw–neck border or the balance between the two sides by adding temporary volume and support to specific parts of the lower jawline. It does not dissolve double chin fat, lift sagging skin or change the bone structure.

What Is Jawline Filler?

The appearance of the jawline is affected by bone width, the chin, the masseter muscle, subcutaneous fat, the salivary glands and neck laxity. Adding filler without identifying the source of the problem can make the lower face look wider or heavier than necessary.

The jawline is not a single injection point. The distribution across the chin, the angle of the mandible and along the line should be planned according to the person's facial proportions, not gender stereotypes.

What is assessed during the examination?

Assessment 1
The jawbone, chin, neck angle and soft tissues are examined from the front, in profile and from below.
Assessment 2
The masseter muscle, double chin fat, skin laxity and salivary gland prominence are differentiated.
Assessment 3
The product to be used, total volume, injection plane and staged treatment plan are explained.
Assessment 4
Filler is compared with options such as liposuction, neck lift, chin implant and botulinum toxin.

Who May Be a Candidate?

  • Adults with slightly insufficient bone support or limited jawline asymmetry
  • People who know that significant skin sagging and dense double chin fat will not be corrected with filler
  • People informed about the temporary effect, product volume and vascular risks
  • People without active infection or medical conditions that contraindicate filler

How Does the Process Work?

  1. Facial proportions are photographed and target areas are marked.
  2. The product is injected in small volumes into the appropriate plane, taking anatomical risks into account.
  3. Balance between the two sides and circulation are monitored; excessive volume in a single session is avoided.

Safety note: Progressively increasing severe pain, blanching or a net-like pattern on the skin, or changes in vision after filler injection require urgent assessment.

Recovery and follow-up

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness when chewing and temporary asymmetry may occur. Severe increasing pain, whitening or a purple net-like pattern on the skin, coldness, or changes in vision or neurological function require urgent assessment.

Possible risks and complications

  • Swelling, bruising, infection, nodules and asymmetry
  • An overly wide lower face, product migration or contour irregularity
  • Skin necrosis and scarring due to vascular occlusion
  • Rare serious visual or neurological complications

Frequently asked questions

Does jawline filler dissolve a double chin?

No. Filler does not reduce fat cells; it only adds volume and support to selected areas.

Will it make my face look wider?

Excessive or poorly distributed volume can make the lower face look wide. This is why total volume and facial proportions matter.

Is jawline filler permanent?

No. The effect of hyaluronic acid products diminishes over time.

Is it the same as chin filler?

They are related procedures, but chin filler focuses on the chin, while jawline filler focuses on the mandibular line; in most plans they are evaluated together.

Scope of the effect and limits of permanence

The aim is to support a natural jaw–neck border; a sharp or angular jawline is not suitable for everyone. The effect is temporary, and weight, aging and tissue changes affect the result.

Alternatives and complementary options

Liposuction or localized methods for excess fat, energy/surgery for skin laxity, botulinum toxin for muscle prominence and implants/genioplasty for bone support can each be evaluated separately.
