The service known as “slimming with Cool Laser” is described on the current clinic page as a cold lipolysis/cryolipolysis method rather than a laser. This procedure does not cause weight loss; it aims to reduce selected small localized fat deposits through controlled cooling.
What Is Cold Lipolysis (Cryolipolysis)?
Cryolipolysis aims to create a cellular response in fat tissue over time through the vacuum and controlled cooling effect of the device applicator. The brand and model, approved treatment areas and technical parameters of the device to be used should be verified before the procedure.
Results do not appear immediately, and the percentage reduction is not the same for everyone. It is not a suitable treatment for skin laxity, visceral fat or general excess weight.
Goals and limits of the technology
Change develops gradually and is not the same for everyone. The procedure does not significantly reduce body weight; weight gain can affect the remaining fat cells and the contour.
Alternatives and complementary options
Weight management based on diet and exercise, liposuction, other non-surgical fat reduction devices or, for excess skin, lift surgeries may be considered.
Who May Be a Candidate?
- Adults close to a stable weight with limited, pinchable localized fat deposits
- People who expect a measured change in contour, not weight loss
- People who are suitable in terms of cold-related diseases and device contraindications
- People who accept that results develop over weeks to months and are variable
What is assessed during the examination?
- Assessment 1
- The location and thickness of fat tissue, skin laxity and suspected hernia are assessed.
- Assessment 2
- Cold urticaria, cryoglobulinemia, Raynaud-like cold sensitivity, neuropathy and pregnancy are reviewed.
- Assessment 3
- The device name, applicator size, approved indications and single/multiple session plan are explained.
- Assessment 4
- The different goals of cryolipolysis, liposuction and weight management are clarified.
How Does the Process Work?
- The treatment area is measured and a suitable applicator is placed with a protective skin barrier.
- The tissue is subjected to controlled vacuum and cooling; skin condition and sensation are monitored throughout the procedure.
- The area is assessed after the treatment; aftercare and signs of delayed side effects are explained.
Safety note: If a firm and noticeable enlargement rather than a reduction is noticed in the treatment area weeks or months later, assessment for paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is required.
Recovery and follow-up
Redness, bruising, tenderness, cramping, numbness or nerve pain may occur, and some symptoms may last for weeks. If unexpected firm enlargement develops in the treatment area over months, assessment for paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is required.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cool Laser really a laser?
The current service description describes the cold lipolysis/cryolipolysis method. The actual technology and model of the device used should be asked about before the procedure.
Does cryolipolysis cause weight loss?
No. It aims for a limited localized change in contour, not general weight loss.
When will the results be visible?
The body's response develops over weeks to months; no specific timing or percentage reduction can be guaranteed.
What is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia?
In rare cases, the treated fat area becomes firmer and noticeably larger instead of smaller; surgical correction may be needed.
Possible risks and complications
- Temporary redness, bruising, pain, tenderness and numbness
- Prolonged nerve pain, skin damage or discoloration
- Asymmetric or insufficient fat reduction
- Rare paradoxical adipose hyperplasia: fat tissue growing instead of shrinking
