Practicing medicine since 1986, with a personalized surgical planning approach at the Europlast Aesthetic Center since 1997.

Dr. Zafer Atakan was born in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and became a specialist in Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1994. He worked at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital until 2000 and continues his work at the Europlast Aesthetic Center, which he founded in 1997.

He completed his surgical training at St. George Hospital London (General Medicine), St. Marcus Krankenhaus University Clinic Frankfurt (Flap Surgery), Rudolfinerhaus Hospital Vienna (Laser Surgery) and St. Agatha Krankenhaus Cologne (Breast Reduction Techniques).

He has taken part as a speaker or participant in more than 50 congresses, symposia and meetings in Turkey and abroad, and is a member of 7 national and international professional organizations.

Frequently asked questions about examinations, pre-operative preparation, recovery, the follow-up process and non-surgical treatments.

Medical history, regularly used medications, previous operations, anatomical structure, expectations and the surgical or non-surgical options that may be applicable are evaluated together.
Where appropriate, photos from certain angles may be requested for preliminary information. A photo-based assessment does not replace an in-person examination.
Suitability is determined by considering general health, examination findings, tests, anesthesia assessment and the expected benefit–risk balance together.
The choice of local anesthesia, sedation or general anesthesia is planned by the surgeon and anesthesia team according to the type and duration of the operation and the person's health.
The length of the operation varies according to the technique used, the scope of the procedure, whether it is a combined operation and individual anatomical features.
Same-day discharge may be possible for some procedures; other operations may require observation or admission to hospital. The plan is explained after the examination.
Recovery time varies according to the scope of the operation, tissue characteristics and how closely the person follows aftercare recommendations. The follow-up plan and timing for returning to daily life are shared individually.
The timing of return depends on the procedure performed and the person's working conditions. The physician's recommendation is given taking into account swelling, bruising, dressings and restricted movement.
Surgical incisions can leave scars. The location and length of incisions and their appearance over time vary according to the technique used, skin type and healing characteristics.
Because of early swelling and tissue changes, the final evaluation takes place over time. Follow-up intervals and the expected process are explained according to the type of operation.
